Lighting has also been used to highlight key design features such as the section cut through the design.

All spaces are effectively linked through sections cut through walls, ceilings and floor to provide interdependancy between the spaces - a key aspect of both quotes.

Subtle Lighting has been used throughout my design to lead the viewer through the spaces, to provide direction. In the image above you can see how effective this is.

Using coloured lighting simple black and white textures have been given a third dimension which also helps to link the two clients spaces throughout. Coloured lighting also gives the opportunity to illuminate single surfaces rather than an entire shape. The darkness adds mystery to the geometric design.

A selection of textures from "Florence Wing", these were inspired from a red cross and have been abstracted multiple times for variety in tone but also retain continuity through the space.

Below the use of red also plays on my clients profession; the starkness of black and white alluding to the harsh reality of war and of course red, a symbol of emergency. The custom texture used here is reminiscent of arm print - a method of concealing.

By using minimal Lighting focus is put on the simple shadows which mirror the path through the space.

Custom Textures

While creating my custom textures I have tried to keep in mind each of my clients professions; physician and nurse. Images I have used include black holes and geometric shapes for Hawking and variations on the cross and 'soft' shapes for Florence.

I hope this will add to a greater sense of place within each clients space, to enable the viewer to affectively grasp a sense of my clients from the ambience alone.
